When PJ grew up in a religious family in southwestern Kentucky tobacco country, her parents instilled into me a desire to "do good." She went to law school because she wanted to help others.
A lot of people think being a lawyer is about making money. But PJ is really grateful for what she has and what she has been given. PJ tries to help out in the community and pay it forward. One thing PJ's family does every week is prepare and take meals for the homeless in Center City Park.
Some folks think of their life's work as easing suffering where you find it. PJ represents families who have lost a child or a dad or a sister or a mom. We hope that the work that we do in some way eases families' suffering.
